Join us for an author event with music and culture writer Gerrick Kennedy on Thursday, May 28 at 6:30pm! He'll be in conversation with our very own bookseller, Jonathan Pope, discussing his latest work cowriting Brandy's memoir, Phases, as well as his other work, Didn't We Almost Have It All and Parental Discretion Is Advised.
Gerrick Kennedy is a journalist, cultural critic, writer, editor and editorial consultant based in Los Angeles. He is the author of Parental Discretion Is Advised: The Rise of N.W.A and the Dawn of Gangsta Rap, Didn’t We Almost Have It All: In Defense of Whitney Houston, and the co-author of Phases with R&B icon Brandy. His writing has appeared in Vanity Fair, Rolling Stone, GQ, The Hollywood Reporter, Wall Street Journal Magazine, Men’s Health, Variety, NPR Music, Billboard, Spin, i-D, Playboy, Teen Vogue, Shondaland, Cultured Magazine and the Los Angeles Times.
